Daniel S. Wright, age 69, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Ashley Care Center.

Daniel was born March 23, 1943 in St. Johns, the son of Keith D. and Maxine (Spaulding) Wright. He graduated from Fulton High School where he ran track and played basketball. Upon graduation, Daniel attended Central Michigan University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Daniel married Kristine A. "Kriss" Simmon on September 27, 1975.

Daniel taught three years in Muskegon and then taught Math at Fulton High Schools for 27 years, before his retirement. While with Fulton Schools, Daniel coached JV basketball and also helped out as a referee at basketball games. He was a member of the M.E.A and AARP.

Daniel was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus. He was a sports fan, enjoying golf the most. He also enjoyed computer games and home improvement projects with his dad and Kriss. Daniel enjoyed riding his Suzuki Trail Bike with his wife and playing tennis with Kriss, and his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Carla Wright. Daniel liked to spend time during his summer vacations on Higgins Lake at Rosemary Straight’s Cottage, building sandcastles and scuba diving for seashells with his daughters, Danielle and Rebecca. Daniel loved being with his family and his wife’s family, especially barbeques and playing volleyball; many times hosting the get-together at his home. He especially loved time spent with his children and family.

Daniel is survived by his wife; Kriss of Carson City, two daughters; Danielle Wright of Carson City and Rebecca Wright of Boulder, Colorado, three sisters; Louise Barnes of Oklahoma, Jean (Ronnie) Zyzelewski of Fowler and Martha (Jim) Gower of Eureka, a brother; Mike (Cindy) Wright of Fowler and a step-brother; Peter (Donna) Meyer of Arizona and a sister-in-law; Carla Wright of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Ruth (Sawyer) Wright, Grandpa Joe and his brother, Jim Wright.

As per Daniel’s wishes a private graveside service will be held in Maryknoll Cemetery, Carson City. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Funeral Masses, the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or the American Kidney Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City.
