John F. Miller
Age 79, of St. Louis, passed away suddenly Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at his home.
Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Those wishing to, may make memorial contributions to your charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux Funeral Home, St. Louis.
John was born November 20, 1932 in St. Louis the son of Frank and Ottie (Hagan) Miller. He married Gladys Taylor on August 21, 1952 and together they raised three children. John worked as a tool and die maker for Lobdell-Emery Mfg. Co. for 42 years retiring in 1994. He also worked for the Total Gas Station on the corner of Superior and Pine in Alma for 20 years. In his spare time he enjoyed collecting and restoring Farmall Farm Tractors as well as hunting, trapping, pipe smoking, growing flowers, spending time outdoors in the garden or in his shop milling and going to McDonalds where he loved their coffee.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gladys, three children, Monica Stephens of Mt. Pleasant, Michael Miller of Shepherd and Jeffrey Miller of Lebanon, TN. Five grandchildren, Kandace (Stephens) Nelson, Kalli Stephens, Amanda Miller, Andrea Miller and Kathryn Miller and six great grandchildren. Also two sisters, Mary Gillham of Ohio and Virginia Davidson of St. Louis and his special friend Thomas the cat.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard Miller and Charles Hagan.
