Stephen K. DePue

Age 63, of Vestaburg, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013 in Ferris Township.

Stephen was born January 2, 1950 in St. Johns the son of Dennis and Mary Ann (Kohn) DePue. He married Connie Witt on July 7, 1995 in Ionia. Stephen worked as a manager for Mid-American Potato in Edmore and Greenville before retiring. He worked for Pioneer Auction Service this past year. He took part in a morning coffee group in both Edmore and Vestaburg. Stephen loved the out doors, especially hunting and fishing with his grandchildren. He raised many animals at their home and enjoyed farming his own farm. Stephen will be known for his loving and helpful nature.

He is survived by his wife Connie, children Mary DePue of MS., Michael (June) Loyd of Grand Rapids, Pete DePue of St. Louis, Melanie (Dave) Arnold of Belding, Laura (Steve) Parcher of Vestaburg, Jonella (Jesse) Mannausau of Alma, 18 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also sisters Patricia Tran, Denise (Lynn) Sabin, Sarah (Ken) Compo, brothers Daniel Depue, Dennis DePue, Peter Michael Depue, brothers and sister-in-law Steve (Lois) Johnston, Dwight (Judy) Johnston, Melvina Keeler and many nieces and nephews.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Jennifer, granddaughter Shawna Wiggins and brothers Patrick Kohn and Stanley DePue.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11 am at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City with Pastor Carl Cecil officiating. Interment will be in Ferris Center Cemetery.
