Betty Louise Weber

On November 2, 2012, Betty Louise DeHart Weber passed away, surrounded by the family that she loved so much. Betty was born on September 25, 1932 and married the love of her life, Dale E Weber, on August 22, 1959. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Russell and Vera LaVern DeHart, and brother, Jack DeHart. Betty is survived by a large and loving family that will miss her deeply, including three children, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She will stay in the memories of her daughter Dawn Weber, her son Dean Weber, his children and grandchildren Joshua (Rachel) Weber, Jessica Palmer, Jacob Weber, Jennifer Weber, Grant Weber, Kylie Weber, Lucas Palmer, and Brendan Palmer, her daughter and son-in-law Denise and Mark Cross, their children and grandchildren Nicholas Cross, Shannon (Zachary) Morerod, Lindsay (Scott) Hartman, Kayden Morerod, Cooper Morerod, and Brenna Forney.

Betty spent her long and rich life taking care of her family and working at Sheridan Community Hospital. She served as Department Head and Credit Adviser for Outpatient Services, Founder and Director of Volunteers and Community Outreach, and Life-Line Manager during her 26 years with the hospital. She was also Secretary, Vice-President and President of the Michigan Association of Hospital Administrators, as well as Chair and President of the Montcalm County Senior Fest for a number of years.

Betty was a long-time member of the Crystal Church of the Brethren where she served as Sunday School Teacher, Chair of Vacation Bible School, Clerk, Treasurer, Chair of the Ministerial Committee, Chair of the Board, and Life Deacon. Her church family was an important part of her life. They brought joy and peace to Betty even in the later years of her life when she could not be with them as often as she would have liked.

Betty’s family and friends are grieving after losing such an important piece of their lives, but they are thankful that this strong and intelligent woman is rejoined with her husband and singing perfectly on key with the choir in Heaven.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on November 6th at the Crystal Church of the Brethren with Rev. William Raymor officiating. Intermittent will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crystal Church of the Brethren or Sheridan Community Hospital. Local arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home in Crystal, Michigan.
