Belva Moore, age 93, of Sumner, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the Carson City Hospital.
Belva was born August 20, 1920 in Elwell, the daughter of Floyd and Emma (Jones) Kelley. Belva married Chester Vincent who preceded her in death serving in WWII and later married Francis Red and George Moore who both preceded her in death. She worked as a waitress for several years, packed pickles for a pickle factory and retired from Ore-Ida in Greenville in 1985 after 18 years of service. Belva enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and doing word search puzzles.
She is survived by 11 children; Gloria (Elvin) Woodcock, Deloris (Ronald) Brokaw, Franklin (Bonnie) Vincent, Rex (Vergeline) Red, Claudia (Gary) McKinley, Marlene Caswell, Robin Vanderpol, Freda (Bob) Belmore, Myrna Lalone, Lionel Moore and Dale Moore, 35 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 29 great-great-grandchildren and a sister; Rena Gallahan.
Belva was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jimmy Otis Kelley, four grandchildren and 10 siblings.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 1pm at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Riverdale with Pastor Dar Blanshan of the Victory Church officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5-8 pm and Tuesday from 12 pm until the time of services.
