Mark was born in Middleton to C. Maynard and H. Mirna (Dawley) Dodge and grew up in Middleton with his sister, Luanne and his two brothers, Jeff and Greg. He graduated from Fulton High School where he enjoyed playing sports and being a member of the Fulton High School Band.
He has attended five different colleges having finished his education at Wayne State University in Detroit. While studying at Wayne State University in the Mortuary Science program Mark became a teaching assistant in the art of embalming.
He moved back to Middleton and went to work with his father at the Dodge Funeral Home, Dodge Furniture and Southern Gratiot Ambulance Service.
Mark married Rhonda (Brown) Priest on August 3, 1985 and they resided in Middleton, raising three children, Brandi, Cory and Adam. They have given Mark and Rhonda eight grandchildren, which they adore.
On November 1, 1992 he sold the business, Dodge Funeral Home, to Paul Lux. After an illness, Mark and Rhonda moved to Alma so that Rhonda could be closer to her work at Alma Products and so Mark could be closer to the main office. He continues to work at all seven funeral homes, but still enjoys running services out of Middleton most of all. Mark has mentioned many times that he could not work in a better job or with better people.
Sadly Mark passed away in August of 2013 and will be missed for his compassion in serving others.
